Had a rep for UC Berkeley order food from here. Burrito was excellent, fresh. Went back few days later and it was still excellent. Service was friendly and quick. Good people working here

Excellent experience for large order!!! Texted my 28 item order to Lupita the day before. Everything was wrapped up and ready to go along with plates, napkins, forks, salsa and chips too right on time. All the employees I encountered were friendly and helpful. Only a few tables inside so it's more of a pick up and go place. Food was very tasty.

First of all, the food was amazing. I tried the quesabirrias plate and the flavor was outstanding, plus the soup that came on the side was delicious! I also ordered an horchata and it was the best horchata I have ever tasted it didn't taste like the store bought one at all. The staff was so nice, they treated me with kindness and respect. Finally, the restaurant was clean, the tables, floor, and salsa bar were all clean. I visit some restaurants and they would still have crumbs on the tables. This Mexican restaurant is one of the best restaurants I have ever been to, and I will definitely be coming back!

This place was great for catering and helped me feed 30 people at UC Berkeley . They were fast and courteous. I give them a perfect 10. Pricing was affordable and food tasted great

Our first visit to University Taqueria was Jan 23, 2025. Our chicken tacos and chicken super burrito were delicious! Ingredients tasted fresh. Burrito was large and enough for two people. The guacamole in the burrito was yummy. Small salsa bar was well stocked. Service was friendly and helpful. Small, clean, and cute taqueria. Will definitely return! Looking forward to trying something different on their menu.

This place has like the best tacos! Took me back to street tacos of Mexico City ! I recommend the carne asada ones with everything cilantro and the works. Excellent portions and a well stocked salsa bar makes it all the better! I would just suggest they add cabeza and lengua to the meat options.

Street taco style and fantastic. Standard taco comes with onions and cilantro, if you want, and then all the additions are there. Added my pico and salsa and was good. Ordered 4 tacos and it came with nice side of chips. Great surprise

me and my boyfriend went here when they were close to closing to pick up an order. they were so nice and let us sit and eat our food in the restaurant and gave us water. the food is amazing, they gave us chips with the to-go order. the employees are so kind and friendly!

Eating at the restaurant made me feel like I was home. The employees were kind and came by to ask if I was doing alright or if needed anything. definitely will come back :)

This is my personal FAVORITE Mexican spot in Berkeley! I wish they were open for dinner. I've only been here once because it's only open from 9 to 3, but I will return. The chicken quesadilla (pictured) was so good and they hook it up! Service is incredible and LIGHTYEARS ahead of inferior competitors in the surrounding area. I love University Taqueria. Check them out!

This place rocks! Delicious Mexican food, such kind employees, and reasonably priced for the Berkeley area. Free salsa bar where you pick your own. Small sitting area but love getting their food to go b/c it's ready for pickup in 10 mins.

We were on a Breakfast Burrito binge. We were trying as many top-rated breakfast burritos as possible. We came across this place while waiting for another place. This place was better than the rest!!! Absolutely great!!! Go here as good, if not better, than all the other top-rated burrito places. They got our order wrong, but it's still AMAZING!!! I asked for toasted and Acado instead of guacamole. But they did not toast and put guacamole.

The tacos are the bomb! I've tried pretty much every protein and all are good. Employees are really nice and food comes out pretty quickly. Definitely recommend.

The location of this restaurant is where El Pollo Picante used to be, before joining up with Berserk Burger and moving across the street. The inside of the store is pretty small and can't really accommodate more than 5 people in terms of seating. However, it was alright as we ordered our food to go. I ordered the California Burrito and they asked me for my choice of meat and beans, so I got carne asada and pinto beans. The burrito is honestly massive, coming with a small bag of chips and two sauces as well. It's really juicy and is a good example of what a California Burrito should be. Each bite into it got better as I went along with my meal. It does get really oily by the end, but it's most likely due to all the juices trickling down the burrito as time went on. The chips were lightly salty and while I wish there could have been more, I was able to space them out pretty evenly throughout. I solely used the green sauce, which had a nice spice level to it. The service was really quick as there weren't that many people around ordering anyways. The restaurant is located on University Avenue, so there is street parking, but you may have to go out of your way to find that parking if the spots are taken up depending on the time of day.

I'll never say no to tacos! I placed my order on snackpass around noon on a Friday and my order was ready in 10 minutes. I got three tacos for $3.50 each and a churro. For meats, I got carne asada, Al pastor, and pollo asada. The carne asada was my favorite. They did not skimp on the filling! Lots of meat, which was topped with a lot of red onion and cilantro. The red onion was really fresh. The tacos came with a bag of chips and 3 types of salsa. The churro was also really good. Crispy, sugary, fried dough? What's not to love. The interior is pretty small. There are a few small tables inside and a couple small tables outside. Personally, I'll always be getting my orders on the go. Overall, I would come back again and am curious to try other items on the menu.

Food is delicious! You can tell that fresh ingredients are used. Service is great, everyone is very friendly and welcoming. Our new go to Taqueria.

University Taqueria is an amazing go to spot if you’re in Berkeley it’s on one of the main roads and their burritos are delicious and I love the fajita plate! And their agua frescas are so natural and fresh perfect for a hot day. I ordered and got my order in 10 minutes, it was delicious and super quick! This is my new favorite Mexican place and I will definitely be coming back!

Refreshingly friendly staff. The food is authentic Northern Mexico cuisine. These folks really know what they are doing. I’ll be back. They’re gonna be wildly successful.

Great portions for the price and the taste is excellent! I haven’t had such amazing Northern Mexican food since 2020 in Arizona and I went to Playa del Carmen. Which the tacos were just as good but I was missing a good burrito and that’s just what I got. The carnitas marinade was excellent, no extra salsa required. They also actually have horchata which is the other thing I’d been missing. This one is thick, sweet, and tastes more of vanilla than cinnamon. But it was delicious.

This place is outstanding. I had one of the best vegetarian burritos I can remember in a long long time. It got pretty busy the second time I went but it's worth the wait.

One of the best taquerias in the Bay Area! Tacos are packed with flavor and perfectly spiced. Friendly staff, reasonable prices. Though the place is small, seating can be tough when it’s busy

My go to spot for a delicious burrito, torta and taco. I recently had them cater an event for 150 people and the flautas, churros, quesadillas, gelatinas, & nachos bar were a fantastic hit with my guests.

That was one of the best burritos I've ever had and I've had a few. Fresh ingredients, authentic flavors, sauce bar! Customer service was friendly and helpful. It was my first time there and I will definitely go back. Nothing like a delicious tasty burrito!!

I got a burrito bowl and they put SOOO MUCH in there. It was well worth it. Everything is very well seasoned and i love that they give you chips and have a salsa bar on the side. 10/10

Very good food. Got the enchilada plate and it was amazing. Only complaint is the rice was a little overcooked but still great. Price is about average for the location.
